Although it had been a year and a half since we last held a Legacy Program at SkyRose Ranch in San Miguel, California, the sights, sounds, and smells were as familiar as if it had only been a few weeks: rolling hills studded with majestic oaks and valleys green with crops and pastures populated with cattle; birds chirping busily and the breeze filtering through the trees; the mouth-watering fragrance of tri-tip on Kenny’s grill juxtaposed with the warm, dry, dusty hills.
The routes taken by the twelve Warriors to arrive at Legacy Program were varied and often complex. Each man’s path unique to his history and story, yet their goals were essentially the same: find answers. Find peace. Find hope and regain purpose.
So many men that attend Legacy Program have reached the point of exhaustion. They have fought and struggled for so long they wonder if they can do it any longer. And as the Program unfolds before them, Truth upon Truth, they begin to realize they no longer need to fight alone. In fact, they should not fight alone. Rather, when they align their lives to the life God purposed for them, He will give them the strength and the will to carry on. And not just carry on, but to run the race with a new endurance and confidence for those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)
It is such a privilege for us at Mighty Oaks to be a part of God’s plan for their lives and watch them move from beaten to victorious, aimless to purposeful, death to life. And we couldn’t do it without the support of a grateful nation. So on behalf of our Warriors and their families, we say a heartfelt “Thank you” to you all, and may God bless you all for care and support.
