“Lies, Lies, Lies Get Out!”

Dear Mighty Oaks Legacy Program Participant,

“You’ll never get better.”

“No one can ever understand what you are going through.”

“You are alone.”

“You’re never going to be free from the shame of that event.”

“God can forgive most things, but He won’t forgive you for that.”

“You turned your back on God, He’ll never take you back.”

LIES. All LIES.

Satan, our common enemy, would like nothing more than have us all believe his lies.

Just about every man and woman that has attended a Mighty Oaks Legacy Program has received a “love letter” like the one above from the enemy of our souls. And last week’s Warriors at SkyRose Ranch in California are no different.

The men arrived with their ruck sacks filled to the brim with not only the lies of the enemy, but with guilt and shame and unforgiveness and so much weight that they literally walked with their shoulders slumped and heads hung low. This is a load they were not meant to carry on their own.

The week was spent countering the enemy’s lies with the only weapon that can defeat them: Truth. God’s Truth. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, and “the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of the soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

These Warriors learned that God is a loving Father, waiting eagerly for His children to return to Him. He is the God of multiple chances. He is ready to forgive and restore. And as the men made decisions to realign their lives with Him, they emptied their rucks of all the junk they had been carrying around and began to fill their packs with new tools that will point them to victory in life’s battles. They set a new course for their legacies and their families.

It’s that simple. They aligned their lives to the life they were created to live and have broken the chains of guilt, shame, regret, and loss and are free men in Christ.

They now know that speaking Truth over the lies of Satan will keep them free. They left SkyRose Ranch with a new love letter:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not yourselves; it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1
