We have many supporters who make what we do at Mighty Oaks possible.
One of those Lisa Brasher and the Jelly Belly Jelly Beans company!
The company has a charitably campaign for wounded veterans through the sale of their “Camo Beans.” Mighty Oaks has not only been the grateful recipient financially of this effort, but Lisa and her team at Jelly Belly keep our bellies full of beans – for over 4 years now, their support includes a endless supply of Jelly Beans for us to share with our Warriors at Mighty Oaks Programs!
Jelly Belly jelly beans are actually produced in the San Francisco Bay Area. The family behind Fairfield-based Jelly Belly Candy Co. has been making candy for 146 years. Lisa Brasher is a fifth-generation member of the family.
Brasher has come a long way with the company, which traces its origins to 1869 when her great-great-grandfather, Gustav Goelitz, came to America from Germany and opened a candy business. She has held various positions over the past few decades at the company. She first joined Jelly Belly in 1982 as a customer service representative and billing clerk, and most recently was vice president of administration from 2006 to 2009. She has served as vice chairwoman of the board since 2009.
