A Marine who asked Donald Trump a question at a Virginia veteran's event--for which answer the candidate was heavily criticized--spoke to Bill O'Reilly to offer his reaction to the backlash.

After Trump made remarks to a veterans' PAC in Herndon, Staff Sgt. Chad Robichaux, asked whether he would "support and fund a more holistic approach to veterans [issues like] suicide, PTSD," and other mental health and behavioral issues many veterans cope with.

“I think it’s sickening that anyone would twist Mr. Trump’s comments to me in order to pursue a political agenda,” said former Marine staff sergeant Chad Robichaux, who asked the question that led to Trump's controversial response. “I took his comments to be thoughtful and understanding of the struggles many veterans have, and I believe he is committed to helping them.”

At a town hall style meeting hosted by the Retired American Warriors PAC, Marine Staff Sgt. Chad Robichaux, president and founder of Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs, asked Mr. Trump whether he would advocate for religious programs as an optional part of helping military members suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other health problems.

Hughes teamed up with Chad Robichaux, a veteran of eight tours in Afghanistan and a certified pastoral counselor who had started Mighty Oaks in 2011. (He's now director of veterans affairs at Serving California.) Hughes spent nearly $1 million to build a luxurious lodge and yurts to fit 35 guests. He wanted the veterans to feel pampered, so he got plush towels, high-thread-count sheets and a chef to serve local organic produce and black Angus steak.

Chad Robichaux was a young marine when he married teenaged Kathy. After his service in the military they experienced big problems in marriage. Now restored, they are helping to restore other veterans and their families.

In a new "I Am Second" video, a former U.S. Marine and Pro MMA champion Chad Robichaux speaks honestly about his struggle with anger, hatred, brokenness, adultery and being suicidal as a result of a post-traumatic stress disorder, and how his wife's prayers in church led him to Christ and founding Mighty Oaks Warrior Program.

The video begins with Robichaux narrating an incident when he was working as a New Orleans police officer. After a domestic violence call, he had to deal with a gun-wielding offender, who was reported to be homicidal and suicidal. Robichaux and his associate ended up shooting him to death. Though cleared by a grand jury later, he struggled with his conscience.

Chad joins Doc Thompson to talk about his team that are dedicated to helping America’s military warriors and their families suffering from the “unseen wounds” of combat such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Their effort is on the front line to intercede and end the climbing 22 per day veteran suicide rate and the tragic divorce epidemic in military families. To date the program has over 1,000 alumni and has reached tens of thousands active duty service members through resiliency conferences.

Robichaux joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and served eight tours in Afghanistan, where he earned a Medal of Valor for his bravery. Following a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder and a successful career as a professional MMA fighter, Robichaux and his wife Kathy, founded the Mighty Oaks Foundation. The foundation teaches warriors, who have encountered tragedy and hardship during military service with the spiritual tools they need to move forward.

Chad Robichaux was a budding young MMA fighter and a deputy with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana when he got the call over the radio that day. His fellow officer had been called to a house in St. Rose on reports of a domestic violence incident. There was real fear in his voice when he radioed for help.
