Mighty Oaks International recently concluded a highly impactful 15-day mission in Ukraine, spearheaded by a team comprising 1 full-time staff members and 3 contractors crucial to the organization’s operations. The focal point of this mission was the facilitation of International Chaplain Training, culminating in the graduation of 60 dedicated Ukrainian chaplains. Moreover, we had the privilege of addressing brotherhood with 37 Ukrainian officers in training, underscoring our commitment to fostering resilience and camaraderie among those serving on the front lines of their nation’s defense.

These resilient chaplains, steadfast in their commitment, play a pivotal role in instilling hope and providing spiritual sustenance to soldiers engaged in the noble pursuit of safeguarding their country’s freedom. In tandem with our training efforts, our team also extended support to coaches offering physical therapy to soldiers, intertwining their rehabilitation with the message of the Gospel.

Throughout our training sessions, a diverse array of critical topics was covered, ranging from suicide prevention and the significance of brotherhood to addressing the realities of PTSD, distinguishing between killing and murder, exploring alternatives to suicide, crisis survival strategies, and considerations for the well-being of one’s family. Each instructor, drawing from personal experience, shared their testimony, imparting invaluable insights and inspiring the participants to persevere amidst adversity.

At the heart of our mission lies the unwavering commitment to deliver the Gospel message to the soldiers and civilians of Ukraine, acknowledging their profound need for spiritual guidance and solace. Our endeavors transcend political boundaries, guided by the directive laid out in Mark 16:15, which mandates, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by the people of Ukraine—both spiritual and physical—we are resolute in extending the love and compassion of Christ, offering a beacon of hope amidst their trials.

Our dedication to Ukraine transcends the immediate conflict, recognizing the enduring need for support and guidance long after the cessation of hostilities. Mighty Oaks International remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining a sustained presence in Ukraine, with a primary emphasis on equipping chaplains to effectively minister to their military personnel. By empowering these chaplains, we endeavor to mitigate the emotional and spiritual struggles encountered by service members and first responders, ensuring their continued resilience and fortitude.

Looking ahead, Mighty Oaks International is actively preparing for future missions to Ukraine, with the aim of expanding our reach to more chaplains and extending vital training to regions that may present logistical challenges. This ongoing commitment reaffirms our unwavering dedication to amplifying our impact and providing essential support to those in need within Ukraine. As we press forward, guided by our core principles and driven by compassion, we remain steadfast in our mission to serve and uplift the courageous men and women who sacrifice for the greater good.
